By the Numbers

As a tree planting non-profit, of course, the majority of our donations will go to tree planting. These trees are planted in Minnesota thanks to local heroes, and internationally thanks to our partners around the world. For about every dollar allocated here, we expect to be able to plant one tree and maintain it until it reaches basic maturity. Most Red Wing saplings are started from seed or propagated from existing trees.

At Project Sprout, we believe that we cannot truly be an environmental non-profit until we are one with the environment. To us, that means being carbon-negative and offsetting all the emissions created by our non-profit by buying carbon offset credits from the UN. The money we use to buy these credits will also help support the UN's 17 Global Goals and fund projects worldwide to reduce global carbon emissions. Just like any other non-profit organization, we have to pay some employees. Not everyone works for free, after all!

This is money that goes to creating flyers, giving gifts to our deserving volunteers, website maintenance and creation costs, etc. Basically covers whatever leftover expenses we have.

This is our favorite because we can use the money for whatever we would like. Usually, this money goes back into buying trees and funding projects that increase renewable energy use worldwide.
